Holy shiv, @karimz, you're not making this up are you. What country do you come from? It's plain robbery. Bring in the police then move to another school! Unless all schools in your area have that same draconian rule, and parents/students are required to sign an agreement!
That's the real issue, not the K750 battery. Just my opinion though.

Go straight to the police and report the phone as stolen and name the teacher. It is theft - plain and simple. Even if they will give it back there is still your contract committments and devaluation - this is money (stolen) straight out of your pocket. If they are going to hold the phone perhaps they should take over the payments. Perhaps they can also take on the legal responsibilty when you are in an emergency after school and can not contact anyone because your phone has been stolen! Even if the school made you sign a contract they have no right to take any of your property - I'd like to see a lawyers stance on the contract. Better still, next time you see a teachers phone take it.

Chili...Mobile Phone have now been banned in many schools in India and not to mention couple of Universities have banned phones or installed Jammers...
Instead of banning, I think School's should install Jammers so that Mobiles cannot be used during school hours...But after that it's all right..!
BTW For the person who said Go to the Police...Dude..Teachers are to be respected and if you set the police on them...Boy are you going to face music...! Sometimes just a simple sorry can do wonders what any threat can;t lol....!
Students should also understand that a School is a place to have fun-Interact-Study - and Communicate Directly rather than have a piece of electronic buzzing your conversations....there's a whole life ahead to do that + After School Too...!

dj_wolfinstein,
I was one of the dudes who suggested police.
I have no problem respecting teachers, did that in high school and in university wich I recently graduated.
But...
Taking away personal belongings is not OK! There should be other means of punishment. Did the crime, do the time - I agree to that, but keep hands off the personal stuff.
