Yes, update to R1BC002, this fixes almost all the problems with the W800i/K750, like slow loading speed, crashing, low sound noise and also improves some of the images used within the mobile and shows an egg timer when loading..

@adamon
Theres nothing to be afraid of lol
updating isn't the same as upgrading or flashing to different phones. You are mirely getting rid of the previous firmware, and replacing it with a garanteed better and more improved firmware.
I've had the new firmware on my K750 and nothing has happened with it, it works even better and is better than the old buggy firmware versions.
There are some forum posts on the latest firmwares, and you will see that every1 who has updated to it, are impressed and satisfied.

@adamon
dude, the things you need are in this forum, just check the
FIRMWARE section.
its all in there.. use the search engine within this site.
anyway, the difference of RIL and the latest which is R1BC is the volume level. is your kinda annoyed by your volume with your current firmware.. then do the update.. youll love the overall volume change. If not, then practically its the closest related firmwares with minimal known bugs. the UPDATE is SAFE, you just hafta be patient and be guided accordingly...
ciao!

@Xugaa,
if i didn't have problem with it, people wouldn't have suggested to format the memory duo NOR to upgrade the firmware to resolve the bugs.
do you think people just format the memory duo just for fun?????

Yeah I use to have that firmware, the new one that has all the fixes is R1BC002.
No updating is totally safe and isn't like unlocking the phone or cracking it etc it is a process of simply updating your phone to make it better, like the way you update your PC.
http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]dateService_Inst_2.2.13.7d.exe
to update make sure you have all drivers installed correctly.
Once software installs to update simply do this.
1)Start update software
2)it will ask you to choose country etc
3)chose connection type
4)hold down C on your fone and connect your USB cable in the phone while holding C
5) Release the C button ONLY once the software tells you to and your phone switches on
Note: If it doesn't work the first time that means your PC detected the flash files needed to update so dont worry, just repeat the process.
@ilabstudios,
I tried updating this TWICE but it keeps telling me 'no update is needed because i have the latest firmware'
for country, I first selected English(US), then I did it again selecting English(UK).
any reason for this??
i found this posting from another guy...
W800
Unbranded UK (CDA102338/38) - R1BC002
O2 UK (CDA102338/16) - R1AA008
Orange UK (CDA102338/12) - R1AA008
T-Mobile UK (CDA102425/43?) - R1AA008
Unbranded phones from other regions should update to R1BC002 through SEUS II.
i downloaded the UpdateService_Inst_2.6.4.9.exe from
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]s&lm=ps1_1&pid=10242&fid=21839
i have R1AA008 CDA102338/36 - will this make any difference?
