Did you use the 'EU2' firmware then? I downloaded the client... last time I did this was with a Terminator cable... remember that?

After you debranded the phone can u use the flash themes ? Have you tried ? Also you said you used the cable that came with the phone, cdu-60 or something i think u called it, would this be the USB cable ?
Anyway would be wicked to know if the new flash type themes work once its been debranded or does the phone need to be unlocked as well ?
Also is it possible to rebrand the phone incase it needed to go back to Orange ?

Yes to all the above!
New themes look great! You can flash the phone with the included USB cable, but if you want to unlock you need to buy a service cable. Phone doesn't need to be unlocked to use the themes.
There is also a backup of most network specific firmware should you wish to revert.

I live in Australia and just got my W810i and its got Optus MyZoo (provider firmware) branded on the bottom right corner of screen as the selection key option and in the main menu as the web access option.
If I flash it to firmware "CDA102494/2 AUSTRALIA eu2" will that get rid of this?
