Wow a real difference of opinion - didn't expect that.
I guess the point that it is not everyones taste to have a flashing blue light - a factor that means that no matter how cool the bluespoon is, I shall be selling mine. - Yes this is a purchase feature for me. (and I know many of my collegues will be the same as well).

This is getting silly, you don't buy a expensive headset by its looks but by its vital functionality. If there's a LED or not can never be such an important issue, especially when it is so easily solved (tape). It is a very good feature though, making it far easier for you to see that the Bluespoon still has a BT link to the phone and for others to notice when you speak.

I guess you need to understand the background to understand why it is such an issue for me.
I'm a salesman - which means I spend up to 4 hours on my mobile a day in public places and with clients alike. Image is important, and a flashing blue light in my ear makes me look an idiot.
Everything else about it (apart from the over sensitive background noise) is brilliant! This one factor draws attention to me when using my phone - when it is the very last thing I am looking for.
I wanted the bluespoon above any other bluetooth headset because it was small enough not to be noticed - thus my frustration.
I know I am seemingly the odd one out on this forum, but I would expect that a large potential market for this product is my peer group, and this really is as much of a problem as I am stating.
Regards,
Adrian

Get an exacto knife.
And a sheet of black acrylic.
Cut a small piece to fit over the offending LED. Glue into place with some glue or epoxy.
Problem solved.
The bright RED LED on my otherwise gorgeous 51SWX20B Hitachi big screen television did not result in tirades against the manufacturer or saying I was going to sell the unit.
I fixed it myself for about Three Fitty.

All entitied to our own solutions.
Me - I've now sold the unit.
My hope with this thread - that the next model has an option of turning it off and with the jaw mic as well, I might well buy it again.
Signing off...

GEOFFREY > You're so right, hehe,...cant make the whole world happy no matter what you do.
I AM very proud of the Bluespoon,..guess its the most "talked-about" headset in the world,..so many articles and some good reviews as well,..
think we achieved the things we aimed at :
Very small size : (no more monster-size headsets)...people will actually WEAR their headset,..without feeling like something from outer space.
(BS might look like a small alien-guy,..but at least he's very small !)
Great Battery-times :..got that one too !
Low weight :...YEP !
Nice design :..well yes, according to what most people say
Great sound :...yes,..the best right now !
Good manual + a free very nice mini-cd-rom with manual too.
Okay,..so some would complain if we had NOT made a light,...its a decision we make,..here we think "technically",..and at the same time giving people a chance to see, when the headset is ON/OFF and needs recharging. Its not meant as an "attention-button".
I dont believe any people in e.g. a shopping-center, will "hate you" because Bluespoon flash, hehe. And the flashing isnt even constantly.
People surely get more annoyed by mobil-phone-ringtones all the time,..I do !!!
Another + in my book is of course the "color-question",..people are making suggestions/asking if it will come in other colors/designs,.....
this is actually very nice to see,..I dont think people have ever bothered before about the color of their headset,...so Bluespoon has now moved into the "wearables" section as well
This we actually spoke about way back at Nextlink,..we wanted to make a headset, that was not only functional,..but also had the "looks"....and BS has the right size for just that.
So we achieved the things we wanted,..at least for now,..I still have a lot of concepts/ideas,..and they will pop up in time too
I'm "of course" already way ahead in the design-part, hehe.

Adrian > I can see what You mean.
The only headsets that dont flash I believe, are the wired ones,..but then again,..you dont need to "see" anything on a wired headset.
I'll have a talk with the tech-guys at Nextlink about this. We of course too talked about LEDS or NO LEDS,..but decided for the obvious,..the thing that most people would want,..namely to be able to see if their headset needed recharging/ON/OFF and so on.
I'll try to come up with something,..and will of course get back with info
Nothing is impossible
