Well I think it's strange the way Ericsson has gone about all of this. It does say
"MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) will be implemented into T68 when services are available to support this feature." on the Ericsson web site but I find it weird that it's gone about it this way. In effect it's released the phone with half it's functionality missing.
As for price drops or rises, I'm sure it's down to individual shops and how they supply them. Who knows.
However if anyone who has a phone now finds out that MMS is not a feature that they can upgrade to, then I think it would be time to get seriously irate.

yeah, smalltalk have incerased T68 talk 60 by £20 as orange have reduced talk 60 commision by £20!

Expect orange contract prices to rise £20 oer handset.

Each phone dealers sell on the net are usually priced with a fixed margin approx £30. So if they sell an sl42e or T68m on orange talk 60, they want to generate £30 for each connection + other connection bobuses usually £30!

I guess thats good for us t68 users as the T68 on orange will be more expensive and demand would contract! Means less T68 orange sales!!!

SMASON5 : we will get the mms-upgrade for free.

And I personally wouldnt have liked to wait this long, for the phone to be released.
I bought mine when it was released.

And You couldnt use mms anyway,..so it didnt really matter, if it was there or not.

You're very wrong when you say,.."half of the features were missing, when the phone was released".

The mms were missing,..but people knew that part,..besides that, it practically had everything "as promised".

NOT SURE ABOUT THEIR PAYG POLICY

I did have a T68 on orange, but have had to return it, because I threw hot coffee all over it.

You all may be waiting some time for them to re-appear on Orange, they have all been recalled and my source in Orange tells me they are at least three weeks away and then only Orange and there own shops will have them for a while again as before. In the mean time Orange have lent me a motorola V60 which is total crap.

I really doubt that the price will drop significantly. Some reasons:

1.) It was Ben82 who started the Thread. OK, he learned to type in small case letters

2.) If they really will extend production they will do it just because the demand is much too high. So a lot of potential customers buy the Nokia 8310 or a Siemens S45 as they don't want to wait for their new handset. And I could imagine that Ericsson wasn't used to produce in these big numbers, so they started with a small production and are now raising. So they won't have to drop the price to sell the additional units.

3.) You remember how long it took for a lot of other high-price-phones to drop in price? For example my old Nokia 8210 had a constant price for more than half a Year.

4.) Think about how many people ask You with Your T68: Hey, what is that for a cool thing? So the public awareness of this great phone is just starting to come up.

Greets,

Flo
