M600 is a Super Super Phone for those people who don't need a camera or video conferencing ability. Same OS, same everything except external memory media and a whole lot smaller and slimmer... Its a tiny pocket rocket in the Symbian war and much better than the Nokia e62 I've been playing with.

I would prefer the new E-series above the M600i due to it's more (secure) connection abilities.

Not sure I understand that response? The UIQ OS is more robust in its menus and settings than the Series 60.... and I'm sitting here with both of them in my hand seeing very little difference.....
Have you compared the new UIQ 3.0 to the Series 60 9.1 versions? I admit its been awhile since I played with a Series 60 device but I would appreciate it if you would tell me what the difference is since these devices both seem to be focused on "corporate users" where security is a very important concern. If the Nokia e62 is a more secure device for sensitive emails and such.... I would like to be able to point that out in my comparison of the two devices as an advantage. Your input would be appreciated....

A better security in VoIP and using general standards for it, and direct switching between formats ie. GSM / WiFi / HSDPA.
Also the new agenda in for example the E-series is far more superior in editing and input.
And the new browser in both N- and E-series is way better than the one used in the UIQ-series. Browsing is very fast and not that difficult to have a full overview over the website although the screen is physicly smaller!
I think those are several points which could be improved into the UIQ...
although I'm a UIQ fan and would get myself a P990i I certainly liked those features in the E61 and N80.

Diff to judge. If you go by prototypes I got hold of the M600i last week and the P990i this coming week. Look into that what you may. It may amount to nothing, seems strange that both prototypes are out at the same time, wouldnt think they would release them, at the same time though!

Thanks for your reply Nils.. I look at the settings alittle more carefully. But, some of the settings on the UIQ devices is incomplete, especially on the P990i firmware I have. The M600 is much more finished and commercially ready...but .... I would expect no differences on a updated P990i firmware.
As for release dates?? Hell, I don't know..but I can tell you the M600 I am using has very few bugs and only 1 crash so far that required turning off the device. I don't think its far away...........but the P990i has more hardware which requires a lot more debugging than the M600. WiFi, conference camera, camera/video applications, etc.
Both though are supposed to work seemlessly with MicroSoft Outlook and that requires the software suite to be released before I can test. Based on past experience with the P800, don't look for that to be polished up unitil the very end... and since I still don't have it..... a couple months or more seems realistic for the M600. Only SE knows for sure.
