Fingers crossed then. If MS improve their applications, I think it's safe to say that they could do extremely well in the mainstream market currently dominated by Symbian (speaking for the UK at least, as Stateside it's a different story, caused partly by the lack of Symbian devices).
HTC are producing amazing devices, which show off loads of innovation, but with Windows Mobile lacking functionality, I'd still prefer something like a Flybook or UMPC to get 'proper' Windows.
I know Microsoft has quite a hold over the corporate market, but even people I speak to in the industry, representing a variety of Windows Mobile devices don't speak very highly of it, off the record. I can't mention names, but it speaks volumes. I feel sorry for them, as most people in PR genuinely want to promote a product they believe in. It makes the job far easier for one!
