Who needs ten megapixel if all you get is a blurry picture. Also it isn't like the ten megapixel images aren't going to take up space. But right now most manufacturers are just using megapixels as a gimmick.

just a long life stanby time and under 4 mg pixel phone is good enough

I take my photography fairly seriously (Panasonic FZ20 owner) But wouldnt realy consider 10 Meg resolution worthwile on a camera with such a small optic, it's a total waste of time and storage space, nothing more than a way of selling cameras to an unsuspecting customers " this has more megs so it must be better sir" decent optic and 3 meg will most likley give better results!

10mp means only one thing: pain in the a.. resizing the photos all the time, enormous files, etc
outside professional photography, only totally n00bs become enthusiastic about a 10mp digicam, being it in a phone or a normal camera

Exactly, at 10mp with the sensor size being physically the same, there is probably a lot more noise in the pics.
