The current max capacity for M2 sticks is 1gb, and they're available to buy right now. In the near future a 2gb will be released, followed by a 4gb stick.
Where did you hear the max is 256mb ?
The K800i will come bundled with Sony 64mb M2 stick, in the UK at least. It wont come with more. The W850i according to the SE UK site will come bundled with a 1GB Sony PRO Duo memory stick. Any changes are down to SE to sort out before either phone is released, but i doubt they will.

Music phones need more memory that imaging.
You can store thousands of pics on a card that stores 50 tracks!!
I have 14.2mb left on my S700i. The cam says I have enough space for 50 1.3mp pics left.
Mind you the higher 3.2 res will make a difference.

Even if each picture is just under 1mb in size ?
800kb appears to be the average file size of the K800i's 3.2mp pictures.

So the K800 uses m2 and the W850 uses duo pro?

Yeah, if SE bundled even a 128MB card with the phone (which is quite generous), Users would still probably want to buy a higher capaciy card anyway. 64MB as a starting amount is fine for most people plus the internal memory.

64mb internal mem is ok imo, even 9300 has 80mb and thats a smartfone.

I agree that a M2 of 128Mb it's very good for a Cybershot phone, anyway you will end up buying a bigger one
