sorry for the delay...
yes there is a particular name. For airtel, bangalore, its "404_45_7.bmp".
The first 3 digits are the country code(MCC), the next two, the operator code(MNC), and the last is the area id.
An easy way to obtain the codes is to use the app "cell track" or "FExplorer" on a s60 phone.
To try putting an op logo on an se, first check a branded phone(on the same network as your unbranded) for the name and size of the op logo. Then create a logo with the same name and dimensions, or simply copy it to your phone using the far manager. Reboot the phone and post the results.

I've solved my problem, here's my subway to have an operator logo on main screen!
I've removed operator name using this configuration of layout.xml file:
objct name="StatusIndication">
settings>
sett name="RowHeight" value="0"/>
sett name="TopOffset" value="0"/>
sett name="TitleHeight" value="0"/>
sett name="TitleTopOffset" value="0"/>
sett name="TitleMode" value="4"/>
sett name="OverlayStyle" value="0"/>
sett name="YPos" value="18"/>
sett name="Height" value="176"/>
/settings>
Now there's a clean main screen on my phone, no operator name....
Then I made a background image with desired operator logo in desired position and that's all!
The result is the wonderful screen in attached image!
Obviously you must do this work for every background image you use, but if you know to use a program like adobe photoshop it's not difficult to do!
I'm happy for this "tricky" solution, I hope this way can be useful for all!
My K750i is unbranded so I don't know what happens on a branded phone.....
Enjoy!

You don't need a file for operator logo..........
I've simply deleted operator name in layout.xml and I've putted the operator logo in the background image.....then what you see it's not a real operator logo but the background image! The graphic result is the same for me......

The screenshot was made using theme creator preview, so it's the defaul date........

i guess the effect is same as that of a transparent logo? What about the operator name? Is it displayed or not?
And considering the parameters in the settings, can you position the logo anywhere you want?
