I think this is some kind of "ClearType" technology as it is used in Windows XP as well. Although in XP most users don't know it's there and don't switch it on. Have you?

Just as a side note: Ive changed the harsh font on my p900 with a smooth, rounded font called Calibri. Its a very nice version of arial and ive got to say it made my phone so much better. This message was posted from a P900
