Oh ok... thanks

Problem I've got is that although planes will usually allow portable games consoles and other electronics such as mp3 players and laptops etc. They are very strict about the use of phones, due to the signal messing with the planes signals and such etc. So even if I do have flightmode, some won't understand or trust it. If you get what I'm saying...

Lol thanks Fatreg...

But don't you think that maybe planes don't crash because of phone signals because... wait for it... your not allowed them on!?

Obviously phones are a weak and a rare risk, like at pertrol/gas stations... I never turn my phone off and they don't explode lol... BOOMBAnot.

I've been (forced) using Ryanair once and been flying hundreds of times with other carriers (businesstrips). Ryanair is THE ONLY carrier that I have been YELLED AT for talking silently to my colleague during the safety demonstration. Incredible....

I suppose that anything can happen if you fly Ryanair...

Ah well the PSP has built in 802.11b wi-fi, but you can switch it off by knocking a switch on the side. Its mad what they ban on planes! Phones i can understand, its bad enough having to converse with some f**kwit next to you that you don't know, worse still if they spent the whole flight gibbering on a phone!

ive just got back from a trip o germany, flying on both easy jet and german wings planes...and the caben crews message at the start of the flight was realy strange...

'could all electronic devices, including mobile phones with a flight mode function, please be turned off for tthe entire flight!'

So they are even cracking down on flight mode functions now,...Surely flight mode is designed to be safe on planes, as it eliminates thepossibilities of recieving or making calls...:s why are they saying turn off your flight mode fones?

thinking about 9/11 those people on the plains called home with their cellphones ... but their plain crashed

now to be honest i don't think their is much trouble when using a cell phone. it could disrubt their frequency, but i don't think somebody will suddenly be able to fly the plain with is phone.
some plaines have microwaves, and if thats allowed, why not cell phones.
in the early W-lan days, microwaves used to disrubt the signal, but today its old news.

and if the company with who you are flying with really doesn't want you to use your phone or other device. then send them an agry lettre, and tell them ericsson can install a private network on their planes, so people can even make calls without any problem to the plains radio equipment.

The only legitimate reason they insist Flight-mode equiped phones are switched of is they are tarring us all with the same brush of miss-trust!

The reason, for ever 1 person with their phone correctly set in flight mode there will be 2 folk txting their mates! Its a sad fact of life, when was the last time you were in the cinema and some gimp recieved a phone call or actually sent a txt, i see it all the time.
