I'd pay for it too if 990 lacks a good browser

UIQ 3 SDK is available for download (complete with M600 specials etc.), and I used to have the C++ source files for Sman 1.4 somewhere... but can't find them now.
Could be as easy as just rebuilding under the new SDK and things might work ?
Anyone else got the source files, or know where to find them ?

I guarantee you that Symbian 9 makes things way more difficult to SMan.
Most of the stuff SMan makes is to give you control over things that the standard applications didn't!
This means that probably most modules will use restricted functions of the OS, that can not be accessed without Symbian approval.
Translated: It will be a hell of a headache!
IMHO SMan probably will be the most difficult program to license in the Symbian world!
(who likes chalenges? )
EDIT: And no, you can not recompile. UIQ version has changed, and all the interface will have to be re-implemented from scratch. There are also many differences in the base classes, so forget the recompile.

The new "security features" of Symbian 9 just killed the freedom of using your phone.

I guess I'm mostly after the file manager and the bluejacking bits

I would just feel better knowing I had SMan on my P990. It's like a security blanket for my phone!

I know many here swear by SMan, but for the life of me I don't see a lot of uses for it on my P900 now, and cannot think it would be of much use on UIQ 3. There are just too many confusing menu entries and obscure icons! Surely it could've been made to "look" nicer? What does one really make of the "Fn" menu, and what lies beneath? Start-Modules-Utilities-Control Panels, (more) Options??
And let's not even touch on the SMan icon subject!! Glad it was dropped on the last version.
I have TaskMan, that opens up with the camera button, and Keymapper, assigned to quit/flush an app using the internet button. File Manager (not the SE one) is a great, well, file manager.
I don't do the blue jacking stuff. I'd personally be annoyed if it were done to me, so ...
This is not meant to make SMan, or its developers look bad, on the contrary, I still use the app for one important thing: sending multiple files at once. I haven't yet figured out a way to do this with another file manager, or what SE engineers were thinking!!
For that, I'm grateful to SMan and its developers, but for all my other needs, I think there are a bit more elegant solutions.
There, I've said it all
