I upgraded my phone at CPW last week but they gave me R5C so i dont know if they have got R5D...
By the way does anybody think that the new software's number R5D007 has anything to do with the fact that SE are promoting the new 007 movie, out next month?? just a silly thought!

I got mine upgraded in a Car Phone Warehouse free of charge (didn't buy the phone from them).
They usually don't like upgrading just because you want the latest firmware so just say that you are experiencing problems like phone rebooting/locking up.
CPW also will fix other problems such as...
joystick
dust under screen (technicaly not under warranty but they do it)
...but the phone needs to be sent away for a couple of weeks.
