same thing like jcwhite...no freezing or rebooting, unfortunately my first k800 went dead. Had mine replaced since it was on warranty. Only thing though, they just took the old handset and left me with the old box(with all accesories included) buggered because of the different imei's from both the phone and box, but not a big issue as long as the new handset is good. just like the old one, never encountered any freezing or reboot.

I had EXACTLY this problem exept i noticed the infared light flash when i pressed the power on/off button. When the screen kept reseting/flashing white screen, it sometimes was fixable by pressing a shortcut with the joystick, but the only way i found it definately un-stalled was to remove my memory stick from the M2 slot. I am on my third, yes third K800i, with the first one dead after i ran it flat out of battery and it never came on again. The second one was on a screen freeze, stalled on a white flash screen, and when i took the battery out - since no other method seemed to fix it, that broke it too. This third one i am on is on the white screen freeze again, but i am not removing the battery this time, jut gonna take it back to the shop with this screen freeze and maybe ask them for a fourth K800i or a different phone.
I think the problem arises from connecting it to the PC by USB cable, since its fine usually, but as soon as i disconnect it form the USB / PC, it does the reseting thing constantly until i remove the memory stick. But i do properly disconnect the hardware properly.
If you fund a way to fix the freeze please re-post.

Mine went dead when I plugged into the PC aswell, i'd get it back to the shop as soon as, it just seemed to get worse.
My second one has the odd white screen reset but no freezing.....yet!!!

My third one just broke. It happened after i unplugged it from the PC, even though i disconnected it with 'safely remove hardware', when it was unplugged, it kept doing that white screen flash/reset thing. After i saw it do that about 3 times pressed the joystick up and it went to the shortcut for about 1 second, then screen flashed white and stayed white. Left it white for about an hour, in which i tried every button, plugged it into the PC again, plugged it into charger, and none of these did anything. So i removed the battery and now its dead, again. It now does the red infa red light i notice too just like the last one.
If i can get a fourth one, i'll never plug it into the PC, very dissapointing software with this mobile-PC connection. but not plugging it into the Pc removes one of the best tings about this phone, the song quality output and the picture transfer.

Does your new K800i phone do the white screen reset randomly or have you noticed it does it when you enter a certain application? I ask because mine did it before when i was in the my pictures folder.

Hard to tell....seems random in that it seems to do it on any function...but only when i'm navigating..like it's a processing speed error maybe!?

Hello,had the same problem....phone died after i tried put a memory card in it....first,froze,then i removed a battery,then put it back in,start the phone.Was really slow...then it died...i try turn it on,and all i got just a infrared port light flashing....calld sony ericsson tech support group,still waiting for an answer....Just want my money back....nice phone,but.....
