you just need to install an SE program to update your phone.
if you are into mac, then i would definetly go for the white version. it will also be worth much more later one.

here is the support page for the M600 where you can find the program to download for the
Sony Ericsson Update Service
unfortunately it only supports windows 2000 and windows XP and I have no idea if it will run in any kind of MAC compatibility mode
