I also experienced that problem, i was using the r5... fw then. But then the phone suddenly went dead so i had it replaced w/ a new unit, the new units fw is R3B0007. With that fw, problem gone. This post was posted from a T65

the numbers underneath is the modelnumber of the software since there is ~10 different language version for each phone they must have numbers to identify the language versions..

nothing wrong with the backlight... it's programmed to switch of if the phone is not used, this also includes when the phone establish a GPRS connection and loads wap pages

I upgrade my firmware ftom R3A to R5A, and I still have a problem. When I talk I hear a noise. What is the problem? Why new firmware don't solve it?

the noise is nothing you get rid of that easy... it depends on the design of the phone... there are two ways in for the sound to the microphone, one at the bottom besides the systemconnector, the other on the back of the phone next one of the screws... this combination causes noise/echoes during calls...

The echoes is not problem for me. The noice which I hear is something like zzzZZZZzzzz. This is not the echoes.

For the echo problem there is a fix for it. SE SP needs to replace a shield inside the Phone and it works beter then.

just that many of the T65 with the echo already has that version of the shieldcan which advise you to put in the shieldcan is more to reduce the noise which is caused by the displaylight which was very common on the first T65 phones...
