um, mine is white

but I doubt the colour of the unit affects the firmware or performance in any way!

OK guys I am back with a bit more description, and I hope someone can tell me if the same sort of thing is happening.
When I plug in the MMR-60 and tell it what frequency to transmit on, it hangs/freezes. The small window asking me what frequency to transmit on doesn't respond, neither do any other windows behind it. For example I can see that the elapsed time on the MP3 player freezes when it was playing a song perfectly well prior to plugging in the MMR-60.
- unplugging the MMR-60 brings back the sound, and the MP3 player reverts to normal. If the MMR was plugged in for 30 seconds, then it will have advanced the elapsed time (previously frozen) by 30 seconds. This indicates that the M600i is still "processing" the audio, but it isn't coming through the speaker.
- holding the "back" button below the jog dial when the MMR-60 is plugged in reverts the M600i to the home screen, where everything functions as normal.
- after doing the above step, I can go into the MP3 player and see it playing but again no sound. If I go to settings>transfer sound, the M600i thinks that a "wired headset" is plugged in.
- if I go to accessories, MMR-60 is listed. However clicking on it doesn't do anything. Highlighting it and clicking "more" just brings up one option - task manager.
Can anyone with a working M600i/MMR-60 combination please tell me if the MMR-60 is listed as a "wired headset" in the settings>transfer sound menu in the MP3 app? Also what options do you have available to you in the accessories menu?
Thanks in advance. FM sending is one of the reasons I got this phone, I really want to get it working!

with the MMR-60 plugged in the transfer sound dialogue says "sound is in Wired handfree"
In the accessories menu I can change the frequency and set the "light effect" to on or off
I've also just tried mine in my P990 and it functions as expected also.
I really am starting to think that your MMR-60 is faulty is some way , rather than it being a problem in the M600

@masseur
thanks for getting back to me bro
i really hope you're right, but it works perfectly (lights option, set frequency, etc.) on a W810i and a W800i
what i need is to test the mmr-60 on a m600i which i know works with other mmr's...

hmmm. yes I now remember you posting that
ok, one final suggestion, have you tried reflashing the latest firmware on the M600?
reflashing same firmware is something I rarely suggest but experience has shown it can make a difference on the M600
after that, I'm right out of ideas unless you can find another M600 to try it on

@masseur
thanks for your help. I think i'll wait until another firmware comes out, i'm wary of reflashing.
in the meantime i will hunt out another m600. i haven't seen another one in london so far though...

Has there been any update on using an MMR-60 with an M600i? I have had the same problem as described earlier in this post. I see that on the Sony Ericsson.com website that it is meant to be compatible with the M608c so presumably it should also work with the M600i...
