I had agile messenger on my P900 straight from the website and it was the full program and free, not a trial version...

Right now I think the only option is IM+ since the first P990i firmware update broke Agile.

Personally I prefer IM+ anyway simply because it connects directly to MSN Messenger whereas Agile always passes through their own servers.

I'm sure most java apps do work (although by all account the current P990i firmware has broken a fair few), but *personally* speaking on a smartphone device like the M600i or P990i I want proper native apps which fit in with the phones standard GUI look and feel, not generic J2ME apps with proprietary interfaces.

you obviously dont know what recent java apps can do...i just wont understand of people moaning about lack of a or b type of apps when there are perfectly good options in java that also have advantage of working fc

I'm well aware of what they can do, its just that *I* want native apps which work with the standard GUI and controls and have a common look and feel with the rest of the device.
Its no different to Windows - I want native apps using the standard look and feel there and not Java or other apps using some proprietary interface or daft "skins".

Besides, if I just wanted the ability to run J2ME apps then there is little point in even having a powerful smartphone device like the P990i which supports its own native applications with its own UI.

funny, because one of the biggest advantages of UIQ 3, pointed by almost everybody, is being able to run j2me middlets
