I'd love to have a W950i with WLAN! Too bad, SE knows what to do. Now am obliged to buy the P990 just for its WLAN since I don't need the camera. This message was posted from a P910

I have read all the emails in this particular thread and it all boils down to whether you want the phone as a functional tool or as a toy. Phones with built in cameras have developed a bad reputation in the US and are not allowed in some places such as court houses. What I see here is that SE decided to develope a phone where the technological emphasis was placed on the radio itself and not on frills. I find it refreshing for a change.

what se should do is release a camera that attaches to the bottom. so insence it would be still a business phone with the optional camera.

M600 is a business phone. I can't believe some people just can't get it through their heads. But SE's not stupid, according to Eldar from mobile-review, Next year we'll have a W950 with a camera.

This is a confused phone. I would really like to see the product spec when the phone got approved.

It has great industrial design and looks trendy, like a consumer phone, not like a business phone. It has unreliable software, which is awful for a business phone. And it lacks a camera, making it unsuitable for most consumers. Plus most enterprise phones have Wifi these days.

@hkanji

- my M600 is not unreliable
- I am business user and I have one as I like to listen to music as well as manage PIM data and emails
- there are many situations where a camera phone is a bad idea
- the M600 is 50% the price of the P990 and other Smartphones, damn good value if you ask me. And I don't need wifi as 3G is so fast on this little device. It actually is better at holding onto a 3G signal than my 'business' PCMCIA card!
- at the weekend I ama consumer and I use the phone to check web sites etc while away from my laptop

What's your problem? If you don't like your M600, sell it!

Battery life is poor.

ActiveSync is bug-ridden.

Firmware has issues.

It's a good phone in concept, execution needs work. I'll outgrow it in anothe rmonth or so. Doesn' tmatter to SE. They got my money.

I sure this has been covered many times, but I think the idea is excellent.
What use is a 2MP camera phone anyway, if you really want to take photos go buy a digital camera.

The fact is that some companies do not allow any photography within certain areas, and for those people who work in those companies a buisness phone with no camera is the ideal solution, even though it sounds bug ridden.

Battery life - for me its now worst than other 3G devices/Smartphones I use

Firmware - you find a devices with a new OS and new UI s/w that does not need furhter improvements. I can use my M600 for business and personal use as many M600 owners can. The firmware is not perfect but its also not unusable

ActiveSync - sorry cannot comment on this. It is an area where I have seen many comments. I have tried to upgrade my business POP account to Exchange but it has been changed yet.

EDIT: Timmy the M600 is not bug ridden. I use it all day it does NOT crash. I have used really buggy Smartphones- ones from the big players. In comparison the M600 with the latest firmware cannot be considered to be bug ridden.
