I was carrying my mobile around in my pocket commando style for the first few weeks. It was fine for the most part until the day I wore some trousers with some abrasive pocket lining which left my screen with a blanket of light scratches. Nothing major. The scratches were only noticible under harsh lighting and during video playback. Overall, the screen is pretty solid. It is not prone to scratching like the iPod. Up until that point, it withstood all the dings and dangs of your typical daily grind. Since "The Incident" I have gotten myself a case (Sony Ericsson ICE-30 which I highly recommend by the way) so no more worries.

Anyways, the moral of the story is ALWAYS BUY A CASE FOR YOUR MOBILE AND NEVER WEAR TROUSERS WITH ABRASIVE POCKET LINING!

I will actually be replacing my screen this weekend. I've been busy I will let you all know how it goes.

Wish me luck!

Like a d**k I've scratched mine n the first week (I think a grain or two of sand managed to get in between the lens and the crystal hardcover I bought to protect it!!!!).

Would any of you brave souls help me by posting EXACTLY the procedure followed to replace the lens?

I'm going to buy the replacement (and any tools??) from the link included above.

Thanks

Kenny

I am treating my K800i with kid gloves at the min until my hard case turns up. I tried and failed to use some Helix clear sticky plastic wrap as a screen protector.

A tutorial with screen shots would be ace if you get it done without parts left over /giggle

As with ALL phones they can sometimes take what looks like a brutal knock or fall and come away without a scratch and sometimes you look at the screen in the right light at the right angel and you think how the hell did that scratch get there!!
