> K800 lens cover - how "fragile"

Yeh so do i, and i can see the left side of the lense is more scratched than the right because its where the table meets the lense when i place it with lense down.

Well actually i just realized that i don't really put it on the table that often, i just usually leave it in my pockets or wen i do put it down it's ontop of something that wouldn't scratch the cover such as newspaper, magazines, ontop of my bed, sofa, etc. so i don't have scratches on my lens cover as a result of putting it down on the table.

Mine is full of scratches and I don't care much. When the scratches are maximum, it shows that my K800 needs a replacement. K900 maybe with 5 MP and CCD sensor..it's a matter of time..

i always place mine camera lens facing down on top of my pack of cigarettes. eliminates the risk of scratches from hard surfaces and especially from wet spots on the table because of its elevated position

I havent taken my k800i apart but there seems to be no way of taking the lense cover off.. unless the lense cover is make of two parts and held together by a screw...

Well IMO, the lens cover does look far more fragile than the K750's. From the material (easily scratched) to the design. The design looks as though if the edge got caught on something (like a pocket), then one firm yank and there goes the lens cover.
