I'm getting really fed up hearing about that bl**dy sky car...its been in the works for over 10 years now and they still have some lump of metal that only manages to hover above ground tied to cables...i personally think they've got that whole concept wrong....my advice to them: Scrap it and start over!
On the other hand we have this neat little chopper thats small, convenient, and ready to fly.

i am afraid if something goes wrong it is not so easy ejecting from the chopper.

hmmm look at all those belt straps... isnt one more than enough? moreover, its more likely that you will get your head chopped off... and the person next to you while landing if something goes wrong.... its not like a real chopper that has a huge base area so that it will most probably on all its base on the skis...
the height to length ratio of this chopper is more than 1, whereas that for a normal chopper it is less than 1, so the chance of it toppling over could be more?

That thing looks deadly. I cant see many people flying that over here, residents will complain of the noise it makes, then the news crews turn up and talk about how dangerous it is, then the police will take it off you if caught with it.
Looks like good fun though for 16K

firstly Belt straps are standard in most type of helicopters, because they are not as stable as planes are...in this case this is a extremely small aircraft and the pilot needs to be securely attached to the machine, don't think one belt would be sufficient.its not exactly a passenger jet is it.
In terms of things going wrong...i could think of hundred more things aswell,..but at the same time i could also think of a hundred things that could go wrong while im driving or flying on holiday in a boeing...risk potential is always their in any kind of moving vehicle.
The base on this is sufficient enough for it to have a stable landing,im sure the manufactures have tested this rigourously..besides they would'nt have got all the neccessary approvals if they had'nt.
So think this is as safe as any helicopter, and just to mention standard
security features in place are:
- Four independent engines for redundancy
- Engine out lights
- Emergency landing under full control is possible on two engines.
- Ballistic parachute provided as an option, mounted above the mast.

@axxxr - Well, I don't totally agree that driving is MORE deadly than flyin'

. . . well what can you say about the 9/11 tragedy huh - 4/4 commercial planes went down . . . 100% accuracy
