I think I'm still searching for that thing that makes me happy to the state of total contentment and happiness.
The closest I've come to I think is sitting (or lying) and reading either The Hobbit or The Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Totally immersing and absorbing books, they transport you to Middle Earth in a way no other book (Harry Potter comes about the closest) books leads you into escapism. You forget you're worries, the crap going on in this world, and feel like you're with hobbits and wizards and the like!
Oh and holidays with my wife too, we both enjoy doing similar things and it's great to get away for a week or two and forget about the daily grind and humdrum routines.
I know, I'm sad!

Last night I was near my happiest, when we had two super wines. I'm a bit of a oenophilist, hence I am at my happiest when tasting good wine.
Last night we had a Chateau Batailley, Grand Cru Classe, Pauillac, from 1979 and a Chateau Gueyrot, Grand Cru, Saint-Emilion, also from 1979.
