don't know if it can be broken that easy, one must bear in mind that the phone has electronics inside,it's not an empty shell, although as some guy from said, the components inside aren't screwed, they are just cramed in there, plus it doesn't have a metallic interior like some phone do,it's just plain cheap plastic
According what i have seen in the Pics from the Interior of the phone the bulk of the circuitry is in the top half of the phone behind the screen, that leaves the botton half which just contains the kepad and battery!
See what's inside the slimmest X820

according to the picturre posted by axxxr you can clearly see that she snapped it at the weakest point, how could those stupid designers even think of such a construction. If you see,the upper part of the phone is solid due to the interior componens and the bottom part holds the battery which is also solid. Thus the weakest part is where the battery cover closes (this resulting the fact that is not a continuos piece o plastic but two parts which offer no resistance) and also it is between the components and the baterry, where again there are 2 pieces not one so again it has no resistance. So the only resistance at that point is made by the front cover which is one big piece of not reinforced plastic which can be easily broken.Stupid design

Saying that it's not fair because they broke it at the weakest point is pointless. Everything breaks at its weakest point. A manufacturer should always make sure that the weakest point(s) on its product are strong enough.
On the other hand since the phone snaps inn the middle it can be turned into a DIY clamshell with a lttle tape
