one reason why I won't choose P800=SPV - I don't think P800 will even be released

just read on a mobile-review site that p800 is definately delayed until feb03, may be not true, but so far it looks very likely to be true...

ok this is all well and good but the spv will become obsolete very quickly
microsoft have a habit of replacing os's very quickly after the first versions
so sp2002 will very quicly become sp2003

Why should it be true? there is alot information that say p800 is coming in december this year in smal amount and in big amount in januari, next year!

ok until a press release appears on the

site we should just wait.
the p800 is coming, it may not be as good as we all want it to be but the fact is that symbian 7 is really good.
and the p800 will pave the way for better phones

did you have to through out your computer when a new ms os came out? so there is your answer... it will come out, you will upgrade it on your phone, problem solved... something you can't do with symbian... nokia 7650 is not upgradable to the 7 version now is it? ....

@ [MDS]
Of course you CANNOT put any Windows OS on any PC. This is the same for handhelds or mobile phones...
Try and run Win2000 on an old PS/2 for instance.... Even on my PC (good old pentium II) it works like a donkey.
So of course Windows requires a suitable machine. You won't be able to upgrade your SPV for the very same reasons. You might get software patches but that's it, nothing of a revolution in the OS.

once again superG you have come to my aid
symbian 7 is upgradable, so so upgradable
its alot like the way palm os works (eg: palm's with v.2.0 can run v.4.0+)
remember the windows ce thing? you try and run pocket pc2002 on a ce2.0 unit!!!
the 7650 isnt relevant to this discussion its os is nearly bespoke.
microsoft have very short product cycles to the point where the consumer suffers
