Does not supprise me at all, when I was an apprentice jeweller in the 1970's The company i worked for got a commission from him for a special Diamond and Platinum bracelet, it had 1000 diamonds in it and it took me three months work to make it was worth about 3/4 of a million sterling then! so a few cars is nothing to this guy.

@brix, because he's primary interest is his own country. And show it should be. Countries improve themselves before helping others improve. It just wouldn't make sense. And you can't compare him to Bill Gates. Yes they are both rich, but one doesn't have responsibilities like the other. If he WAS going to donate, I'm sure he'd donate it to his own country's charities.

Yes i agree... The Sultan is rich and owns a country which he needs to run.. so most of his money goes to developement and charity in Brunei.

Owning a country and helping his people of Brunei is a huge responsibility.. comparing him with some other rich guy isnt fair... coz they earn profit it goes straight to their pockets...

His money is divided into hundreds of segments.. for Family, the Country and the People of Brunei.

If ur in Brunei... around 5-6pm you can see him driving... along Jerudong High way... if you got to wave at him.. he will reply you back with a wave and a smile.. which he always do everytime he Vroomzz by... yes he drives usually a Merc GL.
