Which firmware are you running. Your problem can be solved by upgrading to the latest firmware if it is not a hardware related problem.

sounds more like a hardware prob. Did you try wriggling the base of the connector? Whenever that's happened to me, I wriggle the connector a bit - it then comes good after a bit.
