hey louod,
I have a 990i and I use T-mobile and it works great. T-mobile is more capable with "I" (international) phones than Cingular. T- mobile can operate on the international fequencies....Not to say that Cingular wont work its just some people is some areas are having problems due to Cingular working on incapdible frequency.

djsaad1,
do u know for sure if the p1000 is going to come out in 8 months? if that's the case i guess i'll have two phones to choose from. hopefully the p1000 is much better and doesn't have any bugs
lcrkz0023,
hmm. i was considering to change to t-mobile if i got the p990i. the only thing is that i heard from someone that t-mobile might start using the 850 band also. that's why i wanted to wait for the "a" version. i'm still undecided whether i should wait or get the p990i now but anyways, thanks for the info.

where exactly in california were you able to get good reception? I'm located in LA and frequent the LA area.. and I wanted to know if the 1900 band from Cingular has sufficient signal for the p990. I want to buy it, but am a little skeptical on spending that much money on a phone I won't be able to use. please and thanks!

How much you got it from? I am getting mine later on this week for $650 for an asian version in Los Angeles. $620 for Europe, but they ran out of stock.
