and @tmag2005 it might not be a 8700c. it depends on which service its on and what its locked to. the basic unlocked model is 8700. and they are not given any phone. they get to choose what phone they want. paris wanted a sidekick and got it. lindsey liked the 8700 and got it. i recently met a girl, and she used to be a celebrity but still gets treated like one, and she picked the 8700. (she liked the keyboard hahaha) just thought id point those things out.

edit: i believe the 8700c has the 850 band, so in america it will work on cingular. i may be wrong, but i think thats how it goes.

Its good promotion. I am not saying you are wrong, but in my experience, the ones i have worked with in the past often dont pay for the mobiles or calls...cos its good marketing for most companies...

As for the 8700 being the unlocked "generic" model - it true there is an

F, G, C, V and E version.
