When I called Orange on Friday, they said 'start to mid October' or else November. So, it's anyone's guess, really...

An orange assistant told me last week that the handset had passed the final testing stage and its SE that are continuing to hold things up.

Spoke to orange today and they did'nt seem to have a clue!!!!!!!

to be honest half the orange customer service staff don't know their a*ses from their elbows, and the other half don't care because they're being made redundant!

They have no firm launch date for the P990, the first they'll know is the day after it launched when they get a briefing!

You'd be better off taking something else instead of the P990 for your upgrade, flogging it on ebay and using the cash to buy a generic P990 - with none of the Orange garbage on it!

Rant over

I'm leaving Orange after nearly 6 years & moving to O2 as I'm sick of having to go in the garden to make a call due to no signal, their crap deals £30 for 200 xnetwork mins & no texts, the crap they load on your phone. I doubt you will get the phone for free unless you are on a £50 plus tariff, I paid £50 for my P910 & £105 for my SPV M5000 after being put through to retentions as they wanted to screw me for £250 each phone when it came to upgrade even though I spend £39 a month with them. Roll on Feb 2007

@ noahweigh

I'm thinking of doing exactly that. Any idea how much I'd be able to sell the Orange branded one for?

im on 30 quid a month now, and have been told i will payu nothing for my p990i...but i have been overdue an upgrade for over a year....

im going to buy a w900i from ebay until it comes, but orange never supported it, which was a shame.

is it just me or has orange now got the worst mobile selection ever?
i know phones in general have got quite samey, theres not too much innovation going around

I guess the problem always lies with oranges customisations. They seem to spend ages in putting crap on a phone! I remeber when i got my first t68i but it was so easy to dump half of thier rubbish thus clearing up space on the phone. I hope that on the P990 they dont put too much rubbish so that the phone has even less space than its unbranded counterparts !

Reading on all these people who already have thier P990 i am getting way to jealous as like other people i too have been waiting over a year for my upgrade!!!!!!! No other phone in thier range as caught my eye yet !!1 I did flirt with thier spv 3100 but as im so used to the p series and it being a phone first then a pda i couldnt cope with a phoen thats a pda first !!! Plus the unit i had was broken interms of a led light that never cam on for the camera and it used to blank out the screen every time i tried to activate it grrrr !!! so much for orange branding eh !!!
