I was also unhappy to hear about the P800 being put back in the UK, so I gave SonyEricsson UK ring to find why this has happen. They told me that it was down to the operators' GPRS networks not being fast enuff to support many of the features of the phone. When you look at it this kinda true, T-Mobile dont even have there own GPRS service in the UK yet! So the delay is not down to Sony Ericsson but the operators.

Telekomanalytikern John Strand har tidigare sagt till Mobil att förseningen är allvarlig för Sony Ericsson. Detta på grund av att det kommer finnas en uppsjö av konkurrenter när telefonen kommer ut, jämfört med om den släppts i tid.

From the beginning it was said that the P800 should be released during the 3'th quater this year. Then it was the 4'th Q. Now it is clear that P800 will NOT be released this year. And the latest word to the retailers, is that it will not be released at all during this year.

And basically the last part says that the delay is serious for SE because of all the concurrents releases at the same time, compared to the lack of cometition it would be if it had been released in time.

I called Voda UK today as I wanted a straight answer about the P800, I have paid a deposit on one as a corporate customer. I have been waiting 4 months noe, and i got the answer.
Voda UK will NOT release the P800 on the UK network until Jan 20th at the earliest, as it has repeatedly failed UK network testing.
They also noted that the Nokia 7210 has been pushed back to 8th Nov as it again failed network tests, ( was the 18th Oct then 25th, then 1st Nov)

We can get the 7210 Sim free easy enough, just not officially from the service providers.
