Remember, this is not 'just another Samsung'! It is build on the most popular cell os out there. To say 'it does not do this or that' is meaningless. After all my laptop did not do much after it arrived from the shop ! A few days later and it could even make telephone calls :)

Unlike SE, Alcatel, Sharp etc, Samsung has 'teeth' and even worse, it does 'bite' ! Nokia does not give a sh!t about small 'competition', but Samsung is one of the 3 big guns out there. Now that the S60 (thru Nokia) has established itself as the OS of choice in 'smart' cellphones (don't confuse with pdas) surely the market will fiercely be defended. If Motorola decides to jump in too the battle line is drawn. :)

Don`t think that. S60 is a kind of business with some market share. Nokia has the most, Motorola and Samsung, LG and some others have licenses too. SE bought some, laterly, I thought!

I meant that its a slider with the features of an N70. And LG is doing the same with the JoY slider. What a pack of sheep! I.e one company starts a trend, the rest follow. F.I.Y The nokia 6708 runs on UIQ 2.1, just like the P910i.
Well if you read the specs you'd know that its NOT ANOTHER N70.
Its got FP1 on S60 3RD Edition for one and animated flash menus!
Its start of the art slider touch sensitive keys. far better than the N70. Plus it can take more memory external than the N70 - if the N70 had MicroSD or MiniSD it' would be in my pocket at debut - and one of Nokia's TOP sellers even today.

Indeed Nokia build the 6708 only to show the world they also have a licence for Uiq 2xx (they got it before Uiq got taken over by SE.) Imho the 'old' Uiq was more stable then the new. Nokia never sold any decent nr. of their uiq powered cell (neighter did they expect to). On the other hand the comparision/similarities between N70 and SGH-i520 are not meaningfull (i.e. do not really make sens) Yeah I know both devices have key boards (albeit different styles) and screens and make phone calls. And this is about all in similarities. The os is not compatible neighter are the looks. WTF - A comparision with the N73 might be more meaningfull.
