@ads - Well be it as it may mate . . . but if I were you . . . I'll keep myself prepared .. . . that I will be doling out some cash (in order for those fones to be fixed) , this is a worst-case-scenario ok It is a MUST for you to dispose it the way I it . . .

well ive already sold the phones, got the cash for them, i said to the buyers ill get it fixed and give to you...i rang, they said you need some proof of purchase, if not call your network and sort it out with them. Though i dont know what the networks will tell me as i didnt get them through the networks. They said to go back to the store, but thats a little hard as they are interstate, i emailed the buyers but they have not replied...so......

software upgrade/repairs is $45aud each......$90aud to fix both phones, arghhhh, bl***y expensive...

@ads - Even if it will just make a break-even sell, dispose it ! I don't think you wanted a damaged fone lying around your place huh

Moral of the story is . . . next time GET a Nokia fone

My prayers are still with you dude !

hey man i wouldnt say that you will be charged for repair job just because if you are 100% sure about that phone is not over 12 months old u can get it fixed even if u are not the first owner of the phone and u dont have to have receipt with u to send phone get fixed! its easy! no hasle - go to your provider shop you ve bought phone or if u know where u bought it and request of your imei no. receipt! thats it! as far as i know, im working in vodafone Ireland Agents, we are taking phones (secon handed like), usualy customer doesnt knows about handset age nothin at all and we are sending them to get fixed, if phone is out of waranty - it wont be fixed unless present owner of the phone will agree with a repair charge for out of waranty phone...otherwise, phone will be returned to customer...unless in country u r livin is realy strict laws and so so...try send away, say: "i know nothin, i didnt do nothin, happened itself or if u have touched software say that u were usin SEUS and it happened like this", try man, id would say it will be fixed
