An uncalled for mini-review:

Now I want to preface this with, I'm not an audiophile, but I know my music and I know what sounds like a cheap audio system and when it's coming from a BOSE.

These things go for 28 euros around my area. Curiously, the HPM-70 goes for only 19 euros. When I asked the lady why the 64's are more expensive, I was told because "they're new". Oh well.

I think the BASS REFLEX part worked as marketed, and I'm satisfied by the sound output. On my K800 (R1GB001), I played Broken Social Scene's Fire Eye'd Boy on full volume (equalizer set to Bass, Stero Widening switched off) and the sound is crisp; no crackling on the strong drum parts; very minimal (heck, I didn't notice any) distortion on the guitars. I'd go as far as saying I like the sound of it better than the HPM-70's except that the latter actually block out external sounds.

I have yet to try this pair with a W810; I remember back with my then W810/R1CK + HPM-70 I couldnt turn the volume up to max (equalizer NOT set to Mega Bass) because the output just gets so distorted.

Pity the mouthpiece assembly; it looks like it's made of cheap plastic.

Check out these pics. Now, I'm a veteran when it comes to telling faux, and this pair never struck me as faux until I saw the package:

I was asking, WALKMAN?!? OK, so they're HPM's (instead of HPB's), but why doesnt it have the badge in the mic assembly

The mouthpiece is plastic on HPM-70's.

Thats superb info youve given us or should i say me there. I was about to sell my k800i for a w810i. Coming across the use of a D750i/K750i/w800i/k800i already sounds like the w810i uses the same software as a w800i due to crackling distortion where they could have used the k750i/d750i software that provides zero distortion at full volume and exceptional bass with standard handsfree.

The HPM64's look awesome. Do they actually provide a better deeper bass than the hpm70's? If so I am off to buy a set of Hpm64's.

There are a set of Sony headphones in Argos. Last time I checked they cost £70, a bit steep but i've tried them and if you have the money they are well worth it. Excellent sound quality with powerful bass. Plugs into standard 3.5mm sockets.

arien617: The mouthpiece HPM-70 ones don't look like cheap plastic at all. also, the only reason why I had to get an extra HPM is because the ones that the K800 come with is the 3.5mm adapter-less HPB-60 and I never bothered opening them

supers33d: at this point I'm not sure if it's the actual phone unit or the headset that reduces the distortion. I say don't sell your K800 away for a W810. The K800 is almost a W810 up a notch or two; only the music player is a stripped-down WALKMAN 1.0, but you most likely have an iPod for a full-fledged music experience. Give me up to next week and I'll try my pair on a W810 so we can have a better comparison

Notice I said "plastic" not "cheap plastic".

I like them, would be great if it had worked on my *broken* S700i, the silver does match!
