Had a W900 and i think it is pants compared to the W850 which i currently have. The worse factor about the W900 is that it keeps opening in your pocket and takes off the keypad lock. Nothing dodgy with the keypad of the W850 and doesnt take time to get used to at all. Had a K800 before this one and the buttons on that was so annoying to text cos they were so small and the W850 has a great advantage over that, but as people say, the video recording aint that good, and also you cant zoom in/out using the 2MP option which sucks!!!
Overall, go for W850, its newer, better looking and has awesome features re: flash menu icons (specially the grouped theme)

i don't know what's in your pocket, but my W900 never unlocks on me nor does it open. It is also very easy to text message on the W900, the keys are nicely spaced and has lots of room. the camera is amazingly good with autofocus, 8x zoom, and flashlight and other nicknacks. the video recording is also very nice and the games are nice too. music is great, easy to navigate. it is also pretty thick and heavy. battery life is pretty good even though it's a 3G phone. it has a nice and large screen and can support MS DUO, which is a big plus because it's cheaper and has bigger storage. besides, it's cool to hear the cool switchblade sound sound effect when you swivel the phone.

yeah w900 never opened in my pocker, the swivel needed some force to open, it wouldnt just swing open its self....and it neve unlocked either....

i say go for w900 if you dont care about size....besides, it will be a rare phone for you as not many people in aus have it ive noticed....

yes thnkx for all comment but the real down for me is:

1)Optus no longer get it for some reason, and yes i saw it on the shelf too ^ ^
2)3G will not be getting it either because of the battery life requriement, they've heard that the battery life was really short.

i still like it tho but dunno how to get XD

you can use normal 2g sim card in w900 and w850

and you can turn 3g off which makes the phone NOT search for 3g coverage, there for saving battery life....

you can find the w900i on online shops, google it under australia google, will give you some results

it must have been the annoying keypad lock button on the side that kept unlocking my phone, i dont know, but i used to take my phone out my pocket and it would either be on the net, or on a call to someone, and my mother has the same problem with hers in her handbag. Its down to personal opinion in the end, but i really would not have that phone again, id prefer to have a nokia.

This is my exact dilemma too. The T610 will be going soon to make room for a new walkman phone, and I'm torn over which to get. My main concern in battery life (in walkman mode), followed by memory capacity. Also is there a difference between the cameras, even though both are 2MP? Thanks.

I would definitely pick the w900i without hesitation. It's what a walkman phone should have been and should be. You'd have to look hard to find fault with that model. Looks slick in black too.
