Vertu's are considerably heavier than our regular handsets, you have to bear in mind that most normal phones are made of mostly plastics where as Vertu is mostly metal with many more parts.

I was just wondering the weight after looking at the parts they use!
I saw one in Dubai a few years back.

My local shopping centre has a Vertu dealer so i've played around with them on a few occassions, pretending to be a potential customer.

I am a big fan of high end phones such as this and i will proberbly get one at some point, when i have the spare £3000+ to blow on a phone.

I just hope before that launches a high end range such as the Vertu!

All very impressive, but I still wouldn't blow all that money on that thing! I'd rather have a feature-rich 'plastic' phone and buy a half-decent car or put a deposit down on one with the rest that buy one of those things!

Or buy a top of the range HD plasma TV, damned fine hi-fi, or one hell of a PC with the extra 2-3 grand I'd save buy buying a W950i or a P990i or a K800i instead of a Vertu!

At the end of the day,its mainly about if your willing to pay for quality and craftsmanship,..Vertu is a designer handset and vertu themselves class their phones as \"pieces of jewelry\"....I am really into designer things as i appreciate quality, and for that i am more than willing to pay that little bit extra.

I appreciate quality but not at that price and markup! Perhaps my standards are a bit too low, but to me the high end 'mainstream' phones from SE and Nokia are plenty quality enough!

Though my father is from Yorkshire, and I think I've inherited some of his propensity to only spend what is neccessary (on most things )
