@Rajjy,
i know u meant its extremely cheap serviice to provide, but its a bit like saying if u buy an Onion from a farmer, it cost him nothing because it just grew in the ground, when in fact someones time was involved sourcing th seed, then planting it in a field that had to be bought or rented, then weeding it, pulling it up, storing it in a building that cost money, paying rates & electric ETC ETC
every expense a company has must be divided into th price of th products, a message center alone must cost an absolute fortune to run.
imagine how many millions they must have spent setting it all up before even one text was sent.

Yes but when the service was originally set up, the unfrastructure was already in place when only a few messages were sent each month. I reckon they make a huuuuge profit from sms.

I mean it is not as if the messages are forwarded on manually by operators is it
