Why can't members choose their own avatars and why no small images in signatures...nothing like the craziness over at HoFo.

Im not sure about canadian but i know its from north america somewhere. Lots of americans. But i just dont like that comunity. Dont know why though. I think the threads are bad organised and you cant find anything even if you try to search.

Hi all,
I like the format e-mail alerts for replies to posts would be good, and if everyone stopped quoting everything that would seal it for me.

You can ask for an email to be sent to when you have actually created the thread.
phpbb can send emails to users who subscribe to post, I used to have that on my own forum. Laffen seems to prefer the use of bookmarks instead. It probably saves bandwidth or database-space or easier for wappers to find what they want. I'm sure he will say why its like that.

Nah, I like the forum as it is. You can't find another forum like this one in terms of design, and it is nice and easy to use.
Other forums are just using the same template and that's just boring, even with the flashiness.

you don't need topic replies when you reply in a topic anyway. the ** New Posts part at the top shows you whats been posted since you last visited so thats how i find if there is any replies. it would be good to get an email notification that someone has sent you a private message though.
overall there is no need to change the forum in anyway. just my opinion though

I've been on other forums, but Esato's the only one that I browse and post on regularly. The others just do not have the same feel and attractiveness. It'll be great if we could just tick a checkbox to bookmark a thread while we're composing our replies. It's been suggested before. Anyway, it seems the original poster has left after dissing our forum.

i admitt this too....basically, esato is pure and simple forumming. i never knew it was based on phpBB before today though, i thought that laffen / whoever else had coded from hand

but yeh...it's amasing that it's just sooooo simple and easy to use. the basics are there, and nothing more is needed really. if it was upgraded to whats on some other forums, i wouldn't post here. simple as that.

I think its okay the way it is, I would not have a problem with vbulletin, in the same breath as someone said most websites are using vbulletin so being different isnt bad.

It is an vhery old version of phpBB with lots of moding on it and a homemade or moded template. Not sure wich version it is though but thats not important.
On the bottom of each sites it says:
This forum is base on phpBB.
Im not sure but i think there is a wrong typing as it says
base instead of
based
