Nice to see the replies... I saw a program on discovery yesterday... They tried to explain appearance of ghosts.. Even showed some video footage. I dunno if this is "supernatural", but appearance of ghosts is usually accompanied by an increase in electromagnetic activity or a sudden drop in temperature..though no one has been able to explain why this happens..

Yes, I'm not religious or superstitious, and am very attached to reality and science. But I admit, I am a firm believer in spirits and ghosts etc. Also yes, people who have died and remain with us are stuck behind sue to a tragic death, memories that won't fade, emotions, don't realise or accept death. I personally have had a few experiences, most when I was young, but some in recent years as well. I can sometimes know and feel that there is someone/thing around that is not visible through our eyes, I do become naturally scared a little in these situations, though most of which I can brave out.

@ Winger, people that do become ghosts don't roam the Earth at all, due to strong emotions for something or someone in life they stay as they can't face death or the next world, they simply stay in locations (grounded), some occasionally visiting places they were attached to in life (visitation). Some because of an event that happened in life or something horrible that ended their life prematurely, e.g. murder. Some evil entities that remain as they cannot face death and do not deserve a better rest.

No one can prove or disprove that theory.
Someone very wise once told me that ghosts or spirits are a seperate form of being living alongside us,not dead people's spirits as most people like to think.Although after we die our spirit do leave our body...Without our spirit what are we exactly?..just a lump of flesh and bones left to rott.
Some things just cannot be explained yet somehow you know they exist....A bit like the Air we breath,can't see it but we know its there.
For the skeptics who don't believe in ghosts they are places where i can take you where you will believe!

^ There sure are Axxxr, my dad takes the mick out of me and my mum because we believe in ghosts and spirits, and like to watch programs on it and discuss it etc, but it'd be funny to take my dad and the other skeptics to those potentially even dangerous places, see what boggle they come out with to explain!

My thoughts exactly.
Those of you who believe this hocus-pocus, do you think ghosts can only be human, or does everything living thing get a chance of becoming one? (I'd love to see a spirit in the form of a ant or even a rose!)
