Hmm... If a f/w upgrade could add that function to the K750, it'll be great. But as we all know, SE almost never releases new f/w that adds functions to their phones. F/w upgrades usually serve to improve stability, nothing more. Besides, the K750 can hardly be called a new phone, so I think I'm not holding my breath on this one. Shall learn to be contented with my K750.

just get an old working simcard (not necessarily connected), and put all your contacts on that. that way, it isn't with your phone, so it's safer. (ie. lose phone, you most likely lose memory stick as well...) at least thats what i do...

best is to have a back up on the pc

The function would be usefull also for phons w/o memory sticks, like the k700: one could send the file to another device for backup through BT or even IR and then save it somewhere or use as workaround to transfer phonebook.

Yup, this function is definitely better than using the simcard method. I'm guessing the memory stick method preserves all contact details including the contact pictures. With the simcard method you can only save the phone numbers and there's a limit. I think this feature should be a standard one on all phones, not just SE, it's really useful.

the advantage of mem card backup, that all the detials of the contacts can be replaced in another foen aswell, aslong the sim stores only the name sna d tel nrs, but u have to sort it later and thats a real pain

fascinating typo's, Boba ;-)
What about syncml, over-the air syncing and all that?
Also one could in theory send an entire phonebook from one phone to another, but I wouldn't know if that works if you switch phones (w/o simcard there's not much to install??)
Ah, you know, once I knew at least 40 tel numbers by heart, in those days of the landlinephones without any memory at all. It was very fast, all in all: pick up, dial number, pronto.
