what do you mean "can be done on a plane"?
As far as I know, the new phones that can do real flight mode (K790/K800, W850, W700, W300, K610 and the others) can do
everything that does not require radio transmission (network/FM radio/bluetooth). infrared is still available though
With an inactive SIM, the radio is still on, except that the network is not letting your SIM get on it
And here's hoping the next FW update provides someway to switch between Flight and Normal Mode without having to turn the phone off/on, preferable via the power switch

. But there is a little problem (some kind of bug, which is not present in the Normal Mode). If you listen to music in flight mode, or only once activate the Walkman Player, and then try to power the camera on, you cannot do it
