Megabass is a joke
It is just an equaliser preset (you can see the Megabass preset in Farmanager) that distorts your music, but unforuntately stupid features like these sell to some people.
Mega bass works perfectly!! My music never distorts, and I dont use the W series headsets.
If its a preset, please tell me how to set it on my K800 I miss it.

What about the W950? The W810 was one of the first walkman phones to be released and they have obviously improved with more recent versions. Sure walkman is a highly recognised brand but i wouldnt expect it to be 100 percent perfect - there are defintely going to be some concerns and of course with any other music phone brands out there. Look on the positive side - they are always going to develop and improve.

Well that's a problem that should have been fixed by Sony Ericsson buy they've unfortunately that's a problem limited to the W810 and W800.
They've fixed the issues with the W850 (which is the new Walkman). The W810 is almost a year old now, so the phones have been upgraded.
Loud clicks and pops when changing tracks
Never had that.
No gapless playback.
iPods only got that in the last generation (5.5).
A 3.5mm port
What's wrong with the mic adapter that comes with the phone? In fact it's better than having on the phone because it then allows you to use the headphones as a handsfree.
Sorting tracks is limited
Well that's why they've upgraded the Walkman player in the W850. The player that you're using is around is from the days of the W800 and has been superseded.
No folder view or album view (must create playlists manually)
Fixed in the new version.

Well I can agree with you on that one, but some people like it, some don't, and if you don't then just odn't use it.
Bottom line, if you are looking for a quality music phone, stay away from the Walkman series, there is nothing "Walkman" about it at all.
The Walkman series were the first music mobile series on the market and you have not pointed out the generous included accessories that came with the phone. Very high quality headphones (you don't find this quality with other manufacturers), large memory card etc.
The average user will be happy with it and not realise that they are just using a low quality mp3 player but there are others that care about their music.
Well then you should have put some more research into the phone purchase and realised that you either pay close to $1000 for the W950 or N91, or get a dedicated mp3 player. You don't expect audiophile quality from phones, just like you don't expect perfect photos from a phone.
As far as I know, the new walkman phones still have not improved on the above problems.
As I've pointed out, many of the issues that you've mentioned have been improved upon by the W850, and to an even more extent by the W950.
If you had done some proper research, you would have noticed some issues BEFORE buying the phone. For example you could have easily gone the Sony Ericsson site to 'Try the phone' and analyze whether its music features were right for you.
If you find the sound quality to be poor, then get a decent mp3 player. Walkman phones are thought of to have the best sound quality from a mobile phone; even Nokia's Express Music series are of worse quality (thank god you didn't go there). The sound quality isn't half bad, and for most users it is fine. For audiophiles, of course not, but that isn't the purpose of Walkman phones.
Whilst the sound quality is of importance, the target audience would be people who like to have music on the go, and in a convenient size, therefore converging the devices into one. Sony Ericsson have struck a good balance between sound quality and size in their Walkman devices. So if you want sound quality, get an Archos for $500+ and a phone for talking, or you can just stick with the convenience of having all in one.
Next time just do some research before buying the phone! It's your fault if you didn't try before you buy. It's like buying a luxury car and expecting to get high performance racing out of it.

I can see your issues. I don't know why you're complaining about hissing - There is a driver I have posted that totally gets rid of the hissing - at least for a W800 and K750. I have compared the sound quality of my W800 to several MP3 players. Yes some have better bass and some are louder - but you would go deaf if listened at full volume all the time. My W800 is loud enough to leave my ears ringing. Megabass is a joke - no disputes. But, look at the overall package. My W800 more than satisfies my needs for listening to music when I walk, run (Once you have the driver that overcomes the hissing they are great!). The occassional pop and crackle between songs is not limited to SE Walkmans and it's not a drastic issue. Plus, I like the simple user interface of walkman player and the ability to toggle songs so easily with the switches on the side of the phone. The sound quality of dedicated MP3 player is not that much better to warrant carrying one around as seperate device. I'd rather carry one device than several. For this reason, as a whole package (i.e. phone, camera and MP3 player - and games) I don't think I could want more.
