Well it is quite difficult to understand your posts since you don't exactly insist on finishing the words. Anyway you wrote :
"To get the best out of your batt,"
And assuming that batt means battery it would mean that to get the best from your battery. The best means "most power" in my book and then it doesn't matter if you turn off the phone.
Sure it is faster. That is so obvious and a well-known fact for anyone who has ever charged a phone, a laptop computer, a GPS, an iPod...well everything that uses a battery. But exactly how is it "better"?

better means for me, that for example when a fone is on, the quality of reception could be wotrh or better, according the operator and my position etc so even this "wave" of rec quality could influence the charging, cos the fone searchs constanlty for the network and the battery needs to be in a "peacuful" position aslong the charging period.

Thanks for all the responses. My phone to does have the zig zag line going through the battery symbol and the batt does show a green sliding bar, however the orange coloured zap symbol I thought would disappear when the battery was charged fully. It seems not though

I've actually just noticed that the green charging battery symbol IS flashing when approaching the fully charged state. I guess i wasnt looking hard enough. You must admit though, it is quite small.

The zig zag line is there when the phone is fully charged.When i charge my phone(p990) the phone is on.I always change sim cards,that way no one can ring me.I also wait until it says 100%(i tap the battery icon,it normanly takes 2 hours to charge).Also i always wait until the battery is dead(the phone wont turn on)before i charge the battery.One thing i cant understand is se give a 1000 mAh with the p800,1260 mAh with the p900/910 and 960 mAh with the p990!!
