Dead pixels cant be fixed afaik. Most warrenties on LCD's state how many dead pixels are acceptable before a warrenty claim can be made as it is common on LCD's.

are the dispalys easy to replace on PSP's,
I know it's stupid asking b'coz PSPs don't cost that much now do they £150 gets you 1

Re downgrading it.. If you're on 2.60 I found it absolutely cake.
All you need is a USB cable, and download the 2.71 firmware. (Do a search on how to do this manually, if you get stuck lemme know)
Then download the following:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/downloads/Downgrader2.71FULL.exe
It's pretty much automatic and step by step, with pictures and audio
Only thing to note is before you do it, do a full shutdown of your PSP, take out the battery, then put it back in, start it up and use the downgrader.
After that you can use the custom 3.02 upgrades that let you run all the old stuff , ps1 games, etc

Some newer games need the newer firmware to work so downgrading may cause some of your games not to work.

If the pixels are dark/black then probably dead. A stuck pixel would usually have a color than can be fixed..
I wouldnt think fixing dead pixels would be worth as it can cost you half the price of the psp.

You can use the devhook or a custom firmware to play newer games.
