Go try a 7210 for yourself, and decide
I personally love the 7210:
It's neat (the blue version is beautiful),
fast,
it has a very bright screen,
sharp colors,
FM stereo radio,
Handsfree loudspeaker,
J2ME (there is a mario-like game one can download for free, and many other applications),
screen themes,
wallpaper,
tri-band,
no bluetooth but it has IrDA and a USB port (more than enough!),
poly ringtones (SP Midi i.e. for MMS format) and there are tons of them you can get using wap/internet+PC suite.
GPRS with 2 uplink timeslots (twice as fast as T68i to send something)
No voice dial, but these are useless -to me- Much faster to use the phonebook normally...
I like T68i too, but:
it looks a bit fatty (though the design is nice too), old and common now
It is not customizable (no Java)
No poly ringtone (buh)
Cheap color screen (it is to colors what Lada is to cars

)
No FM radio
Though, it still stands competition
and...
You'll need to reflash it 7 times, get it replaced 5 times

the T68 is still better because of better softwear and interface. the only thing good on the 7210 is the colour screen and some people like the design. just go for the T68 most people here have it and we love it!

When coming to looks and design, it's really up to the people themselves to decide if they find a product attractive or not, NOT you!
The 7210 is double the price of T300, but not half the size.
I seems like you take the criticism, and others point of view personally.. Why?

best phone price/quality is the T300 everybody knows that but i wonder why buy the 7210 when fo about 50€ more you can get the 7250 in a few months. i personnaly like the t68 more its everything i need, afcourse not everyone needs the same things. but don't forget the 7210 costs alot for what you get.

I love my 7210!!!!!
The screen is brilliant!! (Sharp, bright,...) (The white is white, not yellow as the T68i)
The sounds are superb!!
The real JAVA!! (I have a Telnet service, E-mail, VNC, Tetris and Pacman)
The Handsfree is a must to have for a phone, once you use it, you will not speak without. (While you're in a quiet place)
The building quality is incredible (Mine Made in Finland)
I think that Nokia made a Very Very good phone!
Long live to The Nokia 7210

I dont take anything personally!
Its just rather tiresome to hear a lot of people saying that Nokia and or the 7210 sucks when most of the people commenting it havnt even seen the phone..

so we'd be correct in saying that you don't mention names in your telephone conversations? besides, unless you are some celebrity, i doubt anyone would be paying enough attention to you to note that you're voice dialing.
and the 'frivalous' features on my T68m? feel free to shell out more money for a Bluetooth-ed Nokia when, slowly but surely, every other electronic device becomes Bluetooth-ed. oh, and your Nokia does not have 'Real' Java. it's a scaled-down version. also, why does your statement imply that the T68-s have 'Fake' Java [whatever that is], when they most certainly don't?
hello. the T300 is MEANT to be a kids phone. how else do you explain the polyphony, 'neoprint' camera & interchangable faceplates. [to capture the (bleuagh) Nokia market, no doubt]. it's a brick so that it's cheap. that's called bringing colour to the masses. not everyone can afford a 7210 or even a T68.
no, polyphony is by no means an advantage over monophony. the reason why i bought a T68m instead of holding on for a polyphonic device. i tried out my aunt's 7650 for a week, and i was not impressed by the endless missed calls while i was watching TV or doing anything more than mantaining silence. polyphonic ringtones are almost impossible to hear over anything more than normal speaking volume, let alone from the next room. i imagine the polyphony would be drowned out by the 'oohs' and 'ahhs' from the people 'wow-ing' over it.
and, please, enough with the FM radios already. most people who need/want one already do. so they now have one in their phone. yippie. don't start with the convienience issue. if you can't pack an extra device into what you're already bringing out with you, then leave it at home. who needs a set of earphones to cramp their style?
and i can't blame Nokia for sticking to their age-old interface. if they move up to anything more complex, they'll lose more than half their customers. there's a reason why Nokias are so idiot-proof, and that lies in their customer base.
and though i agree the 7250 is a horrendous monstrosity, you seriously gave up the offer of a camera and more memory for 50 euros?
oh, and, no, i didn't feel sad when the T68i came out, cause i easily obtained a software upgrade to it for S$12 [plus a CD and user guide]. and if i need the [rather superfical] outer casing to reflect the upgrade, i can have it changed for roughly S$50. S$62 for a brand-new phone. not bad, eh?
now, for super g:
i have to agree with you about the blue 7210. it's the least offensive one. why? because the 7210 has a blue keypad. in my opinion, it doesn't gel well with any other covers.
oh, yes, it is fast. but which would run faster? Windows 3.11 for Workgroups or Windows XP?
my T68m's light can help me navigate my pitch-black kitchen at midnight. bright enough for you?
what exactly are 'sharp' colours?
again, don't get me started on built-in FM radios.
my experience with loudspeakers hasn't been very good. [from land-line phones to the 7650 and 7210] but i'm sure, you busy yuppie, can make do with that paltry one since you need it for your daily conference calls with your colleauges, no doubt?
wow. you can download new games. and i thought playing the ones installed were sad enough. games that require a larger screen to pull off really shouldn't be squeezed onto a tiny screen. give me full-fat [PDA, GameBoy, PC, etc], thanks. such a feature that installs new apps would be best appreciated in a phone if it were a smartphone. [read: phone/PDA hybrid]
themes, backgrounds, TriBand: check, check, check.
a usb port on your Nokia? could you point that out for me, please?
oh, that's a Pop-Port. Nokia's way of joining Ericsson's fray. by the way, Ericsson simply calls it 'the connector at the bottom of your phone'.
polyphony - i think i've laid that one out already. if you want music, go listen to your [ooh!] radio.
oh. only now you're discovering the usefulness of downloading graphics and audio over WAP and a PC Suite?
ah, a dual uplink. that would be useful if you could attach audio to your MMS messages, so there'd actually be significantly more data to take advantage of dual uplinks.
isn't it a bit dangerous to have one eye/hand on the road with another eye/hand on your Nokia to dial someone's number. i say, take adavantage of your headset, wired or wireless. [oops, you don't have *that* option] it's more than just for talking on.
even if you don't drive, seriously: tapping away on your phone's easier and more natural than speaking directly into it?
although i'd like to be able to proudly claim that i have never required a flash on my phone's firmware, unfortunately that is no longer so. if only i didn't want to upgrade my T68m to a T68i. darn.
netguy2:
finally, correct usage of the word 'sharp'. but how, pray tell, can white be yellow? if it's white, it's white. if it's yellow, it's yellow. make up your mind [the reason why Nokias need X-press On covers - fickle minds]
i think it's nice you spend most of your time in quiet places. just get out into the sun once in a while, ok?
---
i've always prided myself on being an Ericsson user - i've managed to convert many a friend, and even my own father. [until he converted when the 8850 came out. he also bought the 8910, which cost 4 times as much as my T68 and does 4 times less] my Ericsson linage goes from the GH388 to the T18sc, T28sc, [got 2 of them, the first one conked out a week or so after it was dropped into the loo.] and my present phone, the T68m[i].
i like to think of an Ericsson as a Saab - it might take some getting used to, but it's a all-performance underneath. intelligent, stylish and robust, without needing to scream it.
a Nokia is more of a Mercedes-Benz. you can steer one with a finger, but you can't do much with it. opulent, mostly in foul taste, and screams 'i'm a sheep/fashion victim'.
Nokia Users: You are the Weakest Links. Goodbye.

No offence, but I'd choose a M-B over a Saab anytime
