Stop spreading your Nokia poison here
I would wait till the N95 is out and SE have had their conferance so you know what their releasing as I'm sure they'll launch a truck load of new phones. What about a N73 (Can't believe I just said that as I hate it!!)
My fave Nokia is the N93 but it's huge, as big as a P990 nearly before you open the flip!!
Also WAIT till after next week to see if Apple announce a phone. And everyone keeps going on about the N95 being the phone of 2007, I would wait to see the battery life first though.

Hi all,
and yes Boba you are right there are no two phones i would swap my N93 for in fact i think it will need to be prised out of my cold dead hand before i change to anything else.

I am planning on doing a full 4 months with the N93 once i am a bit better currently too much pain and meds to do it justice.

I would say the camera and video and are nice to have and whilst i have heard many say they are not happy with the stills camera i personally am but then photography is not really a major factor for me. The video shooting abilities are excellent by anyone's standards.

OK this is not a small phone by any stretch of the imagination but it is solid and has excellent build quality the keyboard is very tactile and i find data entry both quick and easy and use mine in Laptop mode at least 95% of the time.
There have been two firmware upgrades so far the first increased Ram on start up by just over 5mb giving approx 23 MB Ram on boot up and Nokia actually release a full change log prior to the firmware so you know what to expect. The 2nd firmware update has resolved the few niggles that were left and the most noticeable difference is boot up from cold now takes just 24 seconds to be usable which for a smart phone and Symbian OS 9.1 which loads the whole OS is IMO pretty good. Also all apps now open without delay or lag and even when switching to Laptop/Landscape mode the screen refresh is instant again no lag or delay also after using the main Camera it no longer activates the front camera as this bug is now fixed.

The Nokia browser is excellent and IMO is much better and quicker than Opera or Opera Mini, the built in e-mail client also works very well and is easy to set up and you can configure the times you want it to automatically retrieve E-mail between and also the interval between checking for your mail. The Real player is excellent for video playback and the Nokia podcast app means you can download a video Podcast as well as a audio podcast the Music player is also very good and i have encoded my music via the PC Suite @160kbps aac and the sound through the AD-46 and a pair of Sony headphones is stunning as good as any standalone MP3 player i have listened to.

Nokia has also released a search app that searches all drives for a keyword and shows how many times it appears in various places an excellent free app like the Podcasting app. I have added Handy Taskman to help mange running apps and show available Ram and Handy Clock for multiple alarms, I am also running Tom Tom 6 Sat Nav and the volume output from the phones speaker is loud and clear if using a bluetooth headset sound is routed to this and stops once a call comes in and returns after the call.

The free QuickOffice and Pdf viewers also work well and you can upgrade the Office for the premium version which allows full editing of Doc's. The supplied battery is 1100aMh Lithium polymer and even with heavy usage easily lasts a day with medium usage a couple of days is possible. Also WiFi especially with the new Wlan wizard is very easy to setup and offers both b&g, the Home media server which allows you to access music, videos and photos that are on either the PC or phone and display on either is also excellent you also have the option to set up your Network for GSM, UMTS or dual mode so depending on your Network you can select your preference. Last but not least the TV out function is also quite stunning as you can output either to 4:3 or 16:9 and both Pal & NSTC are supported. This device has not failed in anything i have asked of it so far and although i had been an Ericsson and then SE user for most of my Mobile life i only changed to Nokia and S60 in June of 2006 and don't think i will ever leave as although i thought i would miss a touchscreen the quality of a non touchscreen phone is just so much better it's hard to believe. This device will not suit everyone but if you want a smart phone with excellent Multimedia and the ability to handle business apps it will not fail you IMO. If you really need to enter large amounts of Data a bluetooth keyboard would be a great accessory to have.
