About an half an hour @ decent quality.

I've owned a Siemens SL45 for over a year (upgraded it to SL45i december last year), and I must say that after using my T68 with the Ericsson Mp3-Player, I'm really dissapointed! The SL45 had MUCH better sound-quality, I've compared both phones for 2 months now, and the sound-quality in the Ericsson is not good. But on the positive side, the battery is a lot better on T68 so the mp3-player can be used for longer intervals without having to be charged.

I just wish the Ericsson mp3-player had the sound-quality of the SL45, but I'll live with it, since the T68 is a better phone anyway!

Just my opinion..!!

Escobar: is it actually THAT much worse than the SL45? Normally it can't be the MP3 PLAYER that is worse, is it the earphones? Or maybe the quality of the songs were different? Is it possible to buy new earphones for it? WOuld that improve it? I had the SL45 too and the quality was wonderful...

I've done lots of testing on this, and the SL45 is better! I have listened to the same songs (the same encoding), with the original headphones, and with optinal ones (Koss SportaPRO, and Sennheiser). I have adapters to use normal headphones with both the Ericsson and the Siemens, and even when using good headphones with the Ericsson, and some cheap ones with the Siemens, the Siemens actually sounds better. The Siemens has a "richer" sound, and better bass and treble in most songs. And that amazes me, since you can't do anything else than put bass and treble on or off in the menues of the Siemens, while you can fine-tune the bass & treble in steps 1-9 on the Ericsson.

I did a little test with the help of two friends. I put the same mp3 (encoded in 192 kbs, straight from an original Cd) on both the Siemens and the Ericsson, and with the help of the adapter, put a pair of Sennheiser on the Siemens first. Then I let my two friends listen to the mp3, without knowing if it was the Siemens or the Ericsson they listened too. I had the bass and treble turnde off. Then I switched to the Ericsson, and let them hear the same song again. I tried to fine-tune the settings on bass and treble as much as possible, before playing it for them. Both my friends prefered the Siemens, and I then changed to different songs (rock, pop and techno), and each time they meant that the Siemens had better sound. This is not a scientific test of course, but I did it to make sure that I'm not biased towards the Siemens.

Siemens must have done something right, and they included the best earphones with the phone, compared to the Ericsson. So to do a comparison without using the same earphones are maybe not right, but most people won't change the included ones, and they might not know what they're missing. So they will probable not complain, since I've heared people praising the Ericsson for it's sound-quality. Which I guess they wouldn't do if they had tried the SL45 or another mp3-player of adequate quality.

I am still undecided weather to buy the radio or the mp3 player. Does anyone have a picture of the player or radio on there t68. It would give me an idea of the size of it.

Thanks in advance

Get the mp3 player, I have had it for a week now and am very happy with it.

When its attached to the bottom of your phone it is about the same size as the numbered keypad again.

go to expansys.com and get it for 35 quid!

Does the MP3 attachment use the T68 display to show stuff like the track number and the track title?
