in auto login mode, when i restart the phone, it shows that i am login.( showing an icon of myfriend on top.) but when i try to download contacts from server it again gives the network error.
any clue.?

As of now, these 2 free IMPS services work for me....
http://chatnu.dk (supports msn only)
www.speago.com (just a plain IM service with no msn, yahoo support)

I've tried all the My Friends services that are out there and the polling time is just too rubbish to make them useful for anything more than presence indicators i.e. "I'm online now, get to your PC and talk to me using a proper piece of software!"

However Mig33 v3 is very good and instant. Being on T-Mobile unlimited makes it very useful as you can actually chat to someone in real time, plus send pics and photos direct from the camera - just wish they implemented a voice message feature now plus some sort of smiley support. You can't accept pics which is a shame.
