It did look pretty good from the north west UK as well... Heres a couple of pics i managed to get of it... Thank god for the tripod and shutter release cable!

i dont know what i'd do without my tripod lol... its saved me a number of times an wen needed ma monopod an mini tripod hav also helped! lol...
Had to take about 100 pics last night to get 2 good ones as it took me a while to work out wot shutter speed an aperture size i needed to get a clear shot etc...
Glad with the 2 i managed to get though

yeh, I am going to be investing in a tripod soon, a nice small and light weight one. I had one once, but it was big srong and bulky so had to get rid of it before I moved.
I pretty much got the settings right, I had a browse in the auto modes on my cam then changed them in the manual modes and what I saw was good, just blurred as I couldnt keep the cam still enough.
Im pretty gutted though as my father has a telescope in spain which you can attach cameras to, and it would have been amazing to use, I could have got some really good close-ups of crators etc
